Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WikiGuard (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
WikiGuard is a Wikipedia monitoring service that detects changes to Wikipedia pages you specify and delivers notifications via email and browser alerts. We provide change history, diff analysis, and analytics for your monitored pages.
WikiGuard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Wikimedia Foundation or Wikipedia. We access publicly available Wikipedia data through the Wikimedia API.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
WikiGuard offers paid subscription plans billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the rate specified for your selected plan.
- 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first subscription payment by emailing [email protected] from your account email. This guarantee applies once per account, to the first subscription payment only.
- No refunds after 14 days. After the 14-day guarantee period, all payments are final. We do not offer refunds for any subscription period, partial or otherwise.
- Pause your subscription. You may pause your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Your remaining time will be preserved and you can resume the Service when you are ready.
- Cancel for credit. If you cancel your subscription, any unused time on your current billing period will be converted to account credits through Stripe. These credits can be applied to future subscriptions.
- Plan changes. You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, or immediately for upgrades (with prorated charges).
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use WikiGuard only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or stalk any person
- Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users
- Use the Service to violate Wikipedia’s policies or terms of use
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission
6. Wikipedia Content
Wikipedia content displayed through WikiGuard (including page text, diffs, and revision data) is sourced from Wikipedia and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. WikiGuard does not claim ownership of Wikipedia content.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service depends on the Wikimedia API and third-party infrastructure, which may experience downtime outside our control. We are not liable for missed notifications or monitoring gaps caused by third-party service outages.
8. Limitation of Liability
WikiGuard is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
